Our garden decoration products (tree stakes, animal silhouettes, etc) are made in Switzerland from 2 and 1.5 mm thick unalloyed DC01 (1.0330) steel.

Our outdoor fireplaces, fire bowls and log racks are made from 3mm thick hot rolled DD11 mild steel (1.0332). Also made in Switzerland.

Our steel comes from European production and guarantees short transport routes with very high quality. This is in contrast to “cheap” steel from the Far East, which has been transported long distances, was produced with few environmental regulations and is of debatable quality.

Don’t our products rust away too quickly?
Mild rusty steel indoors loses about 1 to 2 microns in thickness per year. In a rural setting about 25 microns per year. Health
Rust is the slang term for iron oxide. Natural rust (iron oxide) from mild steel is absolutely harmless and not dangerous for your body or your garden. In the food industry, iron oxide is used as a natural colorant.

The situation is different with alloyed steel, such as Corten (Cor-Ten) steel. These types of steel are mixed with an alloy of chromium, nickel and copper to slow down rusting. When it rusts under ideal circumstances, a barrier layer forms. This process takes about 3 years. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to create these circumstances in nature/garden, because the Corten steel loses the heavy metals, which seep into the ground. We therefore rely on unalloyed steel. In contrast to Corten steel, the service life is somewhat shorter, but the heavy metals do not settle in the environment and the biodiversity in your garden is not attacked.

Nos produits ne rouillent-ils pas trop vite?
